Restyling of a sylvestris pine

text and photos by Alfredo Salaccione

This yamadori need a restyling work. The tree was in pot from many years, and the good condition tell us the good work made by the owner.

After the cleaning of the old foliage I start the wiring.

The first branch is not very strong, so it is very important its position.

I decide to eliminate two branches.

It is possible to appreciate the dimension of the tree by the photo.

During a restyling work I prefer to limit using of big wire. To position the branches I use guy wires, that are very useful and invisible.

Wire must be effective, few and nice to see.

The work goes on, a piece of bamboo help me to position the first branch.

The work is done. The foliage is in position.
