Shohins from commercial trees

During my last travel in Japan I saw many of nice shoins bonsai. It is only few years that in Europe people starts to interesting about small bonsai, but in Japan they are very wanted and expensive.

 

So when I was come back to Italy I tried to work something of little. It is very important to choose the right material to have a good result. This pentaphilla pine is 35 cm tall.

 

 

 

 

At the end of summer I start to work with conifers.

 

 

 

 

In this picture is possible to observe the cleaning of the old foliage. It's very important to do this work before wiring.

 

 

I decide to cut a good part of foliage. In this way the trunk becomes optically bigger. With few branches is possible to build up again the structure of the future bonsai.

 

 
Changing the inclination it is possible to have more movement.
In few time it is possible to create many little bonsai. This is only the first step, but it's possible to appreciate the result.
